Preparing for Travel: My Personal Packing List
Why is it important?
It took me well into my days of traveling the world to fully understand why it is so important to have a packing list. Sometimes it’s my busy life that causes me to pack last minute and sometimes it’s due to my procrastination, but either way, it’s happened often enough that I now always refer back to this checklist. If you’re not a procrastinator, you’re probably fine on your own, but if you pack right before you leave for the airport like I often do, this is an essential. With so much to remember (seriously, look at how many things there are to pack), using a list will erase all the anxiety experienced on the ride to the airport when you’re wondering if anything has been forgotten.
Keep in mind that buying things you left at home can be an annoying cost to add to a trip, but it gets even worse when you’re traveling internationally and the forgotten thing can’t even be bought. I’ve been there. Learn from my mistakes.
Use this as you please
With two trips in the next two weeks, I figured there would be no better time than now to share my list. Make sure to add and subtract things as they might pertain to you. I’m sure a fair amount of the people that read this will have a whole makeup bag to remember while there are others that might not need quite the amount of electronics I do.
Did I miss anything?
After you go through the list, let me know if there’s anything you think I might’ve forgotten in the comments. I don’t want to arrive to my destination only to open up my luggage and realize that my list is inadequate.
